Collins Avenue

Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FLCollins Avenue Podcast – CA1

Heading west to Collins Avenue our tour stops at David’s Cafe, a popular 10th & Collins Avenue Cuban restaurant that serves sugary sweet Cafecito – an extra strong thimble-sized cup of espresso coffee whipped into an energetic frenzy with a heaping helping of pure cane sugar. David’s crafts flaky guava and cheese pastelitos – Latin pastries that take a traditional breakfast danish for a ride South of the Border!

Pausing for a bit of shade on the terrace at the Dream Hotel, Executive chef Jamie DeRosa joins us for a quick history lesson about this popular South Beach eatery where Iron chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s menu thrills guests and locals. One of the highlights of the Sunday Brunch service is the innovative pastry cart which glides through the dining room offering tasting sized portions of all of Chef Ricardo Torres’ amazing desserts. Sample the Popcorn Milkshake with salted brown butter and the tart Catalan Cream with wild berry sauce.

Collins Avenue Crawl Podcast – CAC2

Collins Avenue is home to Top South Beach Nightclubs and also our favorite dive bars including Ted’s Hideaway and the notorious Mac’s Club Deuce where Happy Hour starts at 8am! This rollicking bar crawl kicks off in the SoFi District with a Bucket of Buds at Ted’s where the Irish Charm keeps locals warm day and night. Just across the way we stop in at Room, a dimly lit speakeasy serving beer and wine swathed in a chill hipster vibe. Once everyone feels cheerful, we’re ready to venture into Amnesia, the indoor/outdoor nightspot with VIP rooms and international DJs to provide the perfect backdrop for a SoBe adventure…

Wending our way uptown, we’re treated to an audio mixology lesson at High Bar atop the glamorous Dream Hotel. Plush teak loungers and exclusive VIP cabanas surround a sleek swimming pool that overlooks all of South Beach. Relax alfresco with a Blue Horizon cocktail of Blue CuraƧao, fresh pineapple juice, coconut rum and a splash of Captain Morgan. After this amazing photo opportunity, we’re off to Tony Bourdain’s favorite hangout, Mac’s Club Deuce for a peek at the underbelly of the city and some good old Rock & Roll!
